艾曼纽·贝阿饰演的建筑师茱莉亚聘请一个年轻的姑娘做保姆，但很快这个姑娘就发现，茱莉亚已是癌症晚期，与其说她需要一个保姆来照顾她，不如说她需要一个人陪伴她度过生命中最后也是最艰难的阶段。在这个特殊的时期，在生与死的挣扎中，这两个女人之间建立了一种坚实而强大的友情，茱莉亚也从陪伴中获得了面对死亡的力量。
Plot Summary:Julia is a terminally-ill architect ;her milieu is wealthy but nobody around her seems to understand that she wants to die in her flat.Her brother ,a doctor ,has found a very nice place in the country;her daughter is a spoiled child ,par excellence the rich kid,who seems more interested in her next dress than the close passing of her mom;her parents are the only ones whose faces reflect love and compassion. Marine has just been fired from the hospital where she used to work as a nurse's aid.Julia hires her as a home help,for 1000 Euros a week...which is not much when you've got to take care of a dying person all day long and all night long;Marine is often grumpy ,but she has to cope with the brother/doctor's contempt(and jealousy) .
