Plot Summary:A sea story opening in a storm during which a fisherman's daughter, washed overboard, is rescued from the rocks by two lighthouse keepers. The girl is compelled, by the wide reach of sea and the weather, to remain in the lighthouse several days. One of the keepers is a drunkard and the other, a fine character, saves the girl from his unwelcome attentions. The ugly man attempts to kill him; there is a struggle and both fall to the foot of the winding stairs. The bad man only is killed. Later, the girl is betrothed to the other.
