Alex has big plans for his summer. He hopes to get a girlfriend, make money with a new job, learn a new song with his band Mari Pepa, and win the upcoming “battle of the bands” concert. His summer expectations quickly become impossible to fulfill as he realizes everything in his life is shifting.
Plot Summary:We are Mari Pepa was born of the need to make a tribute to my grandmother, the neighborhood where I grow up, my friends and my multiple failed rock bands. Is a letter to my adolescence, to that difficult and weird age, full of doubts, and desolation. This story is showing through Alex,a 16 year old teenager living with his grandma has various plans to occupy himself during the summer: writing a new song with his rock band, finding a job and having his first sexual experience. He also becomes aware that his grandma is increasingly dependent on him. As summer draws on, Alex realizes that things are going to change forever and that he will have to grow up and learn to say goodbye.
