During the day, the farm is run by strings and partisans appear at night. Pliaugai take care of them as best they can while Unte works as a liaison for the "forest brothers". One day, a noticeable Soviet force rushes over to report to partisans. Men in the nearby swamps suspect betrayal and realize a decisive battle is coming.
